I established Draught Dry Goods in the basement of my house in 2010 - mostly out of necessity, having moved temporarily back to Montana after graduating from college during the peak of the recession. What began as a few bag and leather accessory designs rapidly evolved into a full time job, paralyzing debt, and the development of several hundred original products and designs that I sold to over 75 retailers, globally.

90% of products were produced by my hand in my workshop, and the other 10% by collaborating with domestic manufacturers and like-minded designers and artists. I estimate that I made nearly 10,000 objects over the course of eight years. My thinking was that my best chance at achieving some level of mastery of design was through craft, intense repetition, never ending research, and an intimate understanding of the tools and materials.

This was the project where I found my voice, cut my teeth as a designer, and discovered my viciously unwavering appetite for making and selling things. Most importantly, it was the catalyst that provided me with an enormous, ever-expanding creative community.
